we hit some QA snags in another part (systemd + dbus + dnsmasq + libvirt
were having an argument with each other) so haven't been able to push out
the new desktop... have good hopes for this morning to get past the issue.
for a short period, we'll have both "os-utils-gui" (the XFCE based UI, yes
not a great name) and "desktop" (gnome3 based) living next to each other.
(I'm hoping "short" is one or two weeks at most, but this depends on the
feedback of users on how well the new desktop works)
to avoid problems like os-utils-gui in the future, please call
"desktop" gnome, or gnome-desktop... I know there is no motivation for
you to include other desktops, but some people may add them via remix,
and them being able to keep both is nice.
once we're happy enough (feedback very welcome!) with the new
make os-utils-gui become an empty shell that just pulls in "desktop"
and existing setups get transitioned to be just the new setup.
but are you keeping xfce utilities in there?
