Hi all,
With all updates coming with Clear Linux, I was wondering if a reboot
is required each time the kernel is updated as a few methods (kpatch,
kexec, Ksplice, KernelCare) have emerged lately for loading a whole new
Linux kernel from a running system.
Any comments?
so far I'm not a fan of most of these....
(the first time you do this it's fine. but once you go patch a patched kernel... well
it goes downhill from there rapidly)
but I am considering (still need to talk to Miguel about it) to have a way
to flag kernel builds for needing a reboot or not.
If all we do is turn some new driver on in the config, no need to reboot for example.
