Yes. My advice would be
- ensure the updates complete before you install any software, repeat
until you're current. You will see the updates go from X to Y to Z and
may need to rerun the update once or twice, especially with a version
- take care your kernel is properly setup and configured before you reboot
- run a swupd repair --picky at the end and repeat until nothing is left.
These are paranoid steps but you want to start out with a clean install
and version numbers in the 20k are 3+ years old now, so there's likely
some minor huccups that might accumulate.
Other than that, I've done this once or twice, and it usually works. :)
