Gitlab Migration
by Munoz, Obed N
Hi folks,
Because we want a better world, we have decided to move our Gitlab to a new IT-provided Infrastructure. Some of you have been using it and it has been really useful for collaboration. We want to keep it, so the new instance is being deployed with the latest stable gitlab version.
We’re using a containerized Gitlab which will be easier/faster to maintain and upgrade.
The remaining critical repo (CLR-Documentation) has been migrated to github, so, we can move on with the migration.
You may ask, why we have another git repositories manager if we have koji…/cgit?
We want to use this gitlab instance for new projects that have an intensive collaboration start and requires some fancy collaboration features like the ones gitlab offers.
You can use this clrgitlab for your pet work-related projects (examples: dotfiles, configurations, pastes, etc).
Please remember, when your project is critical or requires official support, this is not the place for your project.
- If it’s ClearLinux’s related - http://kojiclear.jf.intel.com/cgit/
- Anything else: IT may be your friend http://myplm.intel.com/#/devtools
Keep in mind that it’s up to you to keep backups of your repositories in case IT-infrastructure fails or something weird happens. This clrgitlab is a Obed’s pet, it’s not his primary job to maintain this. If it fails, the “SLA” may be longer than other IT-provided services.
A new version of Gitlab has been deployed, it’s reusing the same domain http://clrgitlab.intel.com
All repos will be kept at http://clrgitlab-old.intel.com/ in case you still have something you forget to pull. But keep in mind that soon this will be EOL (1 month).
Migration start on:
3 … 2 … 1 … done.
Regards,
